AI-CHECK: A Study on the Potential of Artificial Intelligence in the Training of Healthcare Professionals

The AI Check project aims to identify best practices for using artificial intelligence in the education and training of healthcare professionals, while also defining its benefits, limitations, and potential risks.

The project follows a multi-stage approach designed to evaluate the performance of AI in educational settings.

• In the first phase, the strengths and weaknesses of ChatGPT in providing information about acne to the general public were investigated.
• The second phase focused on evaluating educational materials generated by ChatGPT for a Continuing Medical Education (CME) course intended for general practitioners. These materials were then compared with recommendations from internationally recognized acne guidelines.
• In the third and final phase, researchers assessed ChatGPT’s ability to develop a complete, evidence-based online CME course on acne. Participant satisfaction with the course was also evaluated, with the findings showing encouraging results.
