Orizzonti: Telling the Story of the Politecnico di Torino

Orizzonti. Sguardo ai confini della ricerca (Horizons- A look at the frontiers of research) is the monthly magazine dedicated to research at Politecnico di Torino. It is a digital space conceived to narrate, with depth and passion, the challenges and achievements that take shape in the University’s laboratories and classrooms.

Addressed to the general public, companies and institutions, Orizzonti offers a monthly appointment with the latest research results and their most ambitious applications.

From energy to space, from architecture to biomedicine, from artificial intelligence to mobility, the magazine is designed to weave vivid stories told by their protagonists, bringing out the beauty of science and its applications through a multimedia editorial product in which texts intersect with images, graphics and videos.

Orizzonti always starts from people: through interviews and videos, it gives voice to researchers who bring into play their talent, imagination and rigour.

Zadig’s activities

Within Orizzonti. Sguardo ai confini della ricerca project, Zadig – which collaborated in designing the digital magazine format – works with the Communication Office of Politecnico di Torino to define the monthly content and produces the multimedia articles.

The articles are developed by:

  • reworking technical and informational content provided by Politecnico di Torino
  • interviewing professors, researchers and external collaborators
  • attending events organised by the University and its partner institutions
  • contextualising the material with background data useful for storytelling

After an initial drafting phase, Zadig oversees the transformation of the texts into multimedia content through the addition of images, photographs, graphics and videos, using the Shorthand visual storytelling platform for the web.

The work is carried out in close collaboration with the Communication Office of Politecnico di Torino.
