ORCHESTRA: Understanding and Addressing Long COVID
The ORCHESTRA project (Connecting European international cohorts to increase a common and effective response to the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic, https://orchestra-cohort.eu/) was funded by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme to establish a pan-European cohort and collect data across four cohort categories (SARS-CoV-2–infected patients, vulnerable populations, the general population, and healthcare workers).
The project’s main objective was to generate essential data to support the development of evidence-based recommendations for the control and management of the pandemic, including treatment strategies, vaccine effectiveness, and the long-term consequences of COVID-19.
Conducted over a four-year period, the project produced more than 100 peer-reviewed scientific publications (average impact factor: 8.7; range: 1–39), which have received over 400 citations within 26 months.
From the early stages of the project, it became clear that ORCHESTRA data could make a significant contribution to the debate on COVID-19 prevention and treatment, particularly with regard to vaccine effectiveness, the role of booster doses, and the emerging body of literature on the long-term consequences of COVID-19, known as Long COVID or post-COVID syndrome (PCS).
Zadig was therefore engaged in the project as a communication partner, with a focus on producing infographics, press releases, videos, and graphical abstracts.
