EU-MiCare: Supporting Migrant Mental Health

EU-MiCare is a project funded under the European Union’s Erasmus+ Programme that aims to develop and deliver a dedicated training offer for mental health professionals and other interested practitioners, based on the specific mental health needs of migrants and refugees.

The project focuses in particular on:

  • strengthening professional capacity to respond effectively to the mental health needs of vulnerable migrant and refugee populations;
  • increasing awareness of the value of interdisciplinary and intercultural collaboration;
  • raising awareness among communities and professional organisations involved in the training offer;
  • improving awareness of mental health distress among migrants and refugees, enabling earlier recognition and encouraging help-seeking behaviours;
  • enhancing partners’ ability to provide appropriate training for healthcare professionals working with migrants and refugees experiencing psychological distress.
