FERS – Future Earth Research School: Adaptation and Sustainable Risk Management

The impacts of climate change are becoming increasingly evident and represent one of the major challenges of our time. In recent years, extreme events such as heatwaves, intense rainfall, and floods have become more frequent. As highlighted by IPCC findings, in some regions of the world the occurrence of these phenomena could be reduced if global warming were successfully limited.

Coordinated by the CMCC Foundation – Euro-Mediterranean Center on Climate Change and funded by the Emilia-Romagna Region, FERS is an advanced climate training school offering high-level scientific courses. Its programmes equip researchers with the tools needed to understand and anticipate future environmental challenges at the global scale.

Zadig collaborates with FERS by producing interactive long-form content on environmental topics, translating key scientific research findings into accessible and engaging formats focused on the most relevant aspects of climate change.

The first output developed was dedicated to water: Water Management and the Climate Crisis.

Primo long form - Gestione dell'acqua e crisi climatica

The first long-form piece produced by Zadig for the CMCC’s FERS focuses on water management in the context of the climate crisis.

Climate change has turned water into a central issue, challenging the ways societies manage this essential resource. From scarcity in drought-affected regions to catastrophic flooding, the consequences of a changing climate are increasingly evident. Examples of successful adaptation provide integrated solutions for water management, yet significant challenges remain. Education and innovative policies are crucial to addressing the global water crisis.
