Zadìg Società Benefit

Since its incorporation in July 1993, Zadig has chosen to clearly define its commitment to ethics, embracing values such as respect for individuals and the law, professional integrity, transparency, the scientific method, independence from partisan interests, and the quality of its services and products.

This commitment was reaffirmed and strengthened in 2021, when Zadig changed its legal status to become a Benefit Corporation. This designation reflects a company’s decision to integrate, alongside profit-making goals, the objective of generating a positive impact on society and the biosphere.

To maintain its Benefit Corporation status — established under Italian Law No. 208 of 28 December 2015, Article 1, paragraphs 376–384 — Zadig undergoes regular third-party assessments.

As a Benefit Corporation, Zadig is committed to pursuing goals of common benefit and operating responsibly, sustainably, and transparently in its relationships with individuals, communities, the environment, cultural and social assets and activities, organizations, and all other stakeholders.

  • Fostering a positive work environment that values people — employees and collaborators alike —and their skills and professionalism, with the aim of nurturing individual potential and supporting continuous growth, well-being, pride, a sense of belonging, and satisfaction in being part of the company.
  • Promoting an ethical approach to work (as outlined in the company’s Code of Ethics) by cultivating a culture grounded in collaboration, openness, transparency, independence, responsibility, trust, inclusion, and care for others, while recognizing and respecting all forms of diversity, including gender and identity, and promoting the inclusion of disadvantaged individuals or groups.
  • Supporting the development and enrichment of the communities where the company operates by contributing to cultural identity and social well-being at both national and local levels. This includes promoting initiatives and projects that generate a positive impact, particularly in areas such as health, science, sustainable development, the common good, and the arts and culture, while actively engaging stakeholders and embracing values such as transparency, dialogue, and cooperation.
  • Promoting and spreading scientific knowledge and encouraging informed choices to improve health and well-being.
  • Encouraging virtuous behavior towards the environment, society, and others, as the result of a process of conscious growth and active participation.
  • Collaborating with non-profit organizations, foundations, and similar entities whose goals align with those of the company, in order to support their growth and amplify the positive impact of their work.
  • Offering online educational initiatives for the public, aimed at fostering healthy lifestyles and responsible environmental practices.
  • Promoting environmentally sustainable habits in the context of everyday professional activities.
  • Conducting fact-finding surveys on issues related to health, scientific research, and the environment.
  • Exploring and testing ideas, projects, and management models aligned with the core principles of sustainable social, economic, and environmental development, while ensuring full recognition and responsible use of people, economic resources, and natural assets in all business activities.

One of the first initiatives undertaken following its transition to a Benefit Corporation was the adoption of a Code of Ethics. This document sets out the binding principles that guide all of Zadig’s activities, serving as a reference framework for establishing, defining, and maintaining relationships with employees, collaborators, and external partners.
The Code of Ethics is also intended to guide the behavior of everyone involved in Zadig Benefit’s activities, ensuring consistency across the organization, fostering internal cohesion and communication, and supporting a clear, unified, and coherent external image that reflects the company’s core values.
