communication, information

Scienceonthenet is the portal dedicated to Italian research in Europe and in the world. The website is congenial to researchers, entrepreneurs, politics, journalists, teachers and all those curious about Italian science and technology within and outside our country’s boundaries.

Purpose of the website is to become a landmark for those who share interests towards the system of Italian research in an European perspective: from the young researchers who is searching for funding opportunity to the entrepreneur looking for international collaborations, from the journalist who wants to tell stories of scientists working in laboratories outside Italy to the politician interested in research policies across Europe.

On Scienceonthenet it is possible to find news and information about the many Italian research centers and their international collaborations, together with articles, videos, infographics, features, comments and debates about research policies in Italy and abroad. Scienceonthenet also provides information about European announcements and funds available, an updated database of research-related jobs, press reviews, documents and much more.

Scienceonthenet is a project supported by a grant from the Italian Minister for University and Research (MIUR), in a partnership with the National Council of Research (CNR) and the Gruppo 2003.

Zadig provides the organization of the website, the editorial staff activity and the production of part of the contents. Great attention is given to data journalism and data visualization through infographics, based on collaborations with Italian and international public databases like, for instance, those of CNR or Cordis.

Another relevant step is the search and involvement of other contributors, mainly researchers but also entrepreneurs or decision makers, which may provide for articles, interviews and comments about Italian research. All these contents require further coordination and redaction.

Zadig also provides the production of audio and video contents, and also offers the live web streaming of scientific events.

Content organization is planned in order to allow an immediate fruition, which is obtained through the subdivision of articles, news, infographics and multimedia products into categories, on the basis of scientific disciplines and themes, with a focus on across-the-boards and current topics. Users may register to the website and the newsletter, comment the articles and share them through social media.

Zadig takes care of the management of social media activity (on Facebook and Twitter) by sharing everything is published on the website, and by relaunching and retweeting contents from other sources.
